Suzuki was responsibie for bringing the teachings and enlightenment of Zen Buddhism to Western culture. Throughout a long and productive lifetime he was devoted to interpreting the teachings and writings of the great Zen masters for both the East and West. Although he never-became a priest in any Buddhist sect, he was honored for his spiritual knowledge in every temple in Japan.
